The Super Bowl is next Sunday, February 11. Again this year Peace Church will celebrate with the Souper Bowl of Caring! We will do so in two ways. First, Pastor Brian has organized a collection for canned soup. Everyone is encouraged to vote for the team you think will win the game, or who you are rooting for, by donating cans of beef soup for the Chiefs or cans of chicken soup for the 49ers. Place the cans by your team’s logo on the table that is set up in the foyer. If you don’t have a team preference, bring cans of soup and place them in the middle of the table. Pastor Brian will count the cans to see if Peace can accurately predict the winner of the big game. The cans of soup collected will be donated to our local food bank to provide a meal of love for those who may not be able to feast during the game.
In addition to the soup drive, following the worship service the Peace Youth Group will provide everyone with a meal of soup in Fellowship Hall. Rather than receiving a free-will offering as has been done in the past, they are asking that everyone donate to the soup collection in support of their favorite team.
